EBLIP for Access Services Practitioners
Michael Krasulski, John Wiggins
Abstract
The constant demand by administrators and accreditation bodies for assessment has proved challenging to librarians generally and to access services practitioners in particular. Although access services work can generate a lot of data regarding the uses of our collections, we can be hard pressed to prove that we had impact on student success. , , Evidence based library and information practice (EBLIP), an approach that has been increasingly and actively pursued by librarians around the world, suggests helpful solutions. In spite of its usefulness and practical application, EBLIP remains largely unfamiliar to the access services community in the United States. This poster will expose access services practitioners to the evidence based library and information practice framework: articulate, assemble, assess, agree, adapt; provide examples for application within access services; and provide information about the evidence based library and information practice community around the world.
