Enhancing Reserves through Campus Relationships
Dennis Smith, Fat Bodies
Abstract
Our library recently moved to new library and reserves systems. This was an opportunity to rethink course reserves especially in relationship to textbook affordability and accessibility. This presentation discusses our journey to develop relationships with faculty and university services to increase and enhance course related materials and improve access to course reserve. Working with specific partners around campus, the library has identified strategic partnerships in order to: to develop course reading lists, enhance both online and physical reserves collections, increase access to materials and develop stronger outreach to faculty. Examples of these partnerships include the writing center, the language lab, the university bookstore, and instructors.
