Abstract

Our Access Services team has been investigating possible technological solutions to space assessment over the last few years with the goal of finding a solution that allows for easier data collection and analysis. The Raspberry Pi, or RPi, is a small computer about the size of a deck of cards and has the ability to connect to various modules and sensors. Although a cheap and highly versatile platform, the RPi requires some knowledge of computer programming and patience. , , This presentation will review what led us to pursue the RPi the steps involved in creating a functional solution for our spaces, and provide the code and instructions for those interested in building their own RPi space assessment tool., , *Would also consider presenting a poster if that option was available.
