Tell Us What You Think: Results of An Exploratory Study of Student Feedback on an Academic Library
Maggie Mason Smith, Jessica Serrao, Anne Grant
Abstract
In September 2018 the Dean of the Libraries created the Campus Feedback Task Force to develop a [fun and interactive] process by which [the] Libraries [could] solicit online and in-person feedback from students, faculty and staff on campus. In response to this charge, Task Force members prepared a marketing strategy and three methods of soliciting feedback: online via our 10 Days to Have Your Say blog; online via social media (Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram); and in-person through tabling at 6 key locations on campus. We will discuss details of how the Feedback Task Force met the Dean's charge, summarize the 804 responses received from across campus, outline potential areas of library improvement for the future, and reflect on what we would do differently next time.
