Abstract

Social Media platforms let us meet students where they are. Library websites contain detailed information about library services and resources, but they can be overwhelming for students who are unfamiliar or inexperienced with navigating them. When the library transformed into a remote-only entity in response to the global pandemic, our social media platforms became an effective tool for communicating directly with the campus community. In this presentation I will discuss how our Access Services department transformed the library's social media platforms into a virtual service point, and how it created permanent remote work opportunities for our Federal Work Study and ROTC Student Assistants, all at little to no cost to the Library.
