Emergency Preparedness

Abstract

The Newman Library has taken a leadership role in Emergency Preparedness and is viewed as a model for the rest of the Virginia Tech campus. We would like to share our experiences, accomplishments, efforts, and challenges we have faced over the years., , A few examples of areas we will address are:, Shelter -in-place and evacuation procedures, Education of procedures, Workshop opportunities, Communication channels, Building audits, , Virginia Tech has faced many difficult situations over the years. The presenters have firsthand experience in confronting a variety of situations and can help others to streamline their thought processes as they work on the safety of their working environments.,
