Come Together, Right Now, Over Me: a story of ILL, circulation and our patrons'

Abstract

In June 2017 the Atlanta University Center Robert W. Woodruff Library implemented the new OCLC cloud based interlibrary loan system, Tipasa. Migrating from ILLiad to Tipasa gave the ILL Unit Head and the ILL Assistant the opportunity to forge a new relationship with the library's Circulation Unit. This presentation will outline the Tipasa/WMS Circulation integration procedure. By integrating Tipasa and WMS Circulation, the Robert W. Woodruff Library was able to improve processes in both the Circulation and ILL units. Workflow changes that were implemented in both the Circulation and ILL units will be outlined as will the positive impact that the integration has had on the way we serve our patrons.
