Abstract

Scavengedy is a trademarked gamification training initiative for your student workers that encourages information literacy through serendipitous discovery and intrinsic motivation. Scavengedy incorporates a range of categories from circulation and stack procedures, emergency preparedness to popular culture, music, and trivia. It is structured with quizzes and one- or two-word clues that tests students' research abilities and knowledge to solve. The game's platform is a website that incorporates a theme such as Pokemon or Animal Crossing that adds a video game impression with cultivated learning refinements. My focus of the presentation is to show how I incorporate this training mechanism to enhance student learning experiences and workspace camaraderie.
