A Tool for Signage Inventory

Abstract

A signage audit can be a useful tool for improving wayfinding in a library, and conducting a signage inventory is the first step. A signage inventory reveals inconsistencies and problems with current signage, and allows you to take a comprehensive approach to redesign. But while important, it can be a daunting task. I have developed a signage inventory tool based in Google Workspaces to help collect and evaluate signage and facilitate a signage audit, that should also be useful for maintaining good signage once the initial audit is complete.
