Abstract

Over the past year and a half, library and IT staff in Yale University's Collaborative Learning Center have partnered to support the deployment of iPads in the classroom. This presentation will discuss the evolution of the initiative, the unique challenges of collaboration for both IT and Access Services professionals, and lessons learned as the program has expanded and evolved from a pilot into a sustainable initiative. The presenters will also provide examples from the classes that participated to illustrate the principles discussed. Participants will gain a better understanding of how best to support tablet technology, create partnerships with IT professionals outside of the library and apply these ideas to similar iPad programs at other institutions.
